solvent-based systems, volatile organic compounds (VOC) are formed that harm the environment and climate. A complete transition to solvent-free paint systems is not technically possible in all applications. To date, process wastes generated in our operations were disposed of by means of thermal post-combustion using primary energy, such as natural gas. From a sustainability point of view, this process is not satisfactory.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why we have developed an innovative process, which intelligently combines process exhaust air systems, heat pump technology and block-type thermal power stations. The volatile solvents are completely separated from the exhaust air and used to generate energy: in the block-type thermal power station they are converted into electric energy and heat.<\/p>\n<p>The generated electricity reduces our reliance on the public grid. The resulting heat is used to generate hot air and hot water for the production and the company building. This way, we combine emission reduction with energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>With this method of solvent recycling, the emission of VOC is avoided. The requirements of the 31st Regulation for the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act are thus not only met, but clearly exceeded. At the same time, we are reducing electricity and heating costs and thus CO\u2082-emissions.
